Psalm 14 - Day 14

For the director of music. Of David.
1 Fools[a] say in their hearts,
   “There is no God.”
They are corrupt, their deeds are vile;
   there is no one who does good.
2 The LORD looks down from heaven
   on the human race
to see if there are any who understand,
   any who seek God.
3 All have turned away, all have become corrupt;
   there is no one who does good,
   not even one.
4 Do all these evildoers know nothing?
They devour my people as though eating bread;
   they never call on the LORD.
5 But there they are, overwhelmed with dread,
   for God is present in the company of the righteous.
6 You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor,
   but the LORD is their refuge.
7 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!
   When the LORD restores his people,
   let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!
Even if it seems like there is no hope and not even one person who is doing good, God will restore His people. His back won't be turned on us, even though I'm sure he gets more than frustrated waiting on us to get our acts together. I'm glad He promised not to wipe us out and start over again. Other wise I think we'd still be living in the dark ages. We wouldn't have evolved nearly as much as we have. We would always be starting over. We never seem to get it. Always making the same mistakes. I'm just so thankful for His forgiveness where I'm allowed to start over for myself and try to be better and try to learn and understand His ways.
