Psalm 8 - Day 8

For the director of music. According to gittith.[a] A psalm of David.
[b]1 LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory
   above the heavens.
2 Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold against your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.
3 When I consider your heavens,
   the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
4 what are mere mortals that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?[
c]
5 You have made them[d] a little lower than the heavenly beings[e]
   and crowned them[
f] with glory and honor.
6 You made them rulers over the works of your hands;
   you put everything under their[
g] feet:
7 all flocks and herds,
and the animals of the wild,
8 the birds in the sky,
and the fish in the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.
9 LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
What sweet praise this one is! God has entrusted us to take care of His creations. How special is that? He didn't have to make us after he finished His glorious sky! He placed every star and moon right where He wanted it. Those lights are His! For His pleasure. He made this just because he wanted to. I am more than sure there are masterpieces more spectacular than this that we will never see. Only Him. He has allowed us to discover His delight and care for his earth and things in it.

Verse 2; Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies... Matthew 18: 3-5 describes it best. I love children. Especially my child! I have been entrusted to take care of my little one here. Providing, loving and educating my child in the Lords way. Along the way, I'm also hoping my pea pod will teach me how to go back to square one so I may see heaven through a child's eye.

So many songs have come from this verse. Majestic and How Majestic Is Your Name are probably the most well known. All of His creations praise Him and glorify His name. I praise the Lord and everything in it!
